Combustion Technology

EWP retains optimal combustion technology for a variety of fuels including bituminous coal, heavy oil, anthracite, and LNG to cope with the fluctuation of fuel price and the deterioration of fuel quality.
Combustion of blended low-quality and multi-origin coal
EWP retains a combustion technology that reduces fuel cost by combusting blends of 2 to 4 types of coals including specifications that are out of design criteria for the bituminous coal-fired boiler.
Combustion in each burner for coal blend combustion
The combustion efficiency is enhanced with a decreased amount of fly ash. This is achieved by burning low-quality coal, which requires a relatively long period of combustion time, in the lower layer of the boiler and the coal that has a relatively higher rate of combustibility in the upper layer.
Fluidized bed combustion of blended coals
EWP retains an exclusive anthracite fluidization combustion technology acquired through its experience in operating the Donghae Coal-Fired Power Plant, a world-class CFBC power plant. It also possesses distinctive combustion technologies, including bituminous coal blending technology and the RDF blending technology, in response to changes in fuel supplies and environmental demands.
Low NOx combustion and clinker restraint
By applying the blend combustion technology for low- and high-grade coals with different calorific values, and by developing standard operation modes for each origin of coal and each output through optimization tests, a clinker is restrained while nitrogen oxide density is minimized to drastically reduce the operational costs of environmental facilities.
